The sign in page is blank. How do I sign in?
We recently redesigned Stormpulse. If your browser is storing some content from the old Stormpulse design, it may cause conflicts when you try to visit Stormpulse. Try clearing all of your Temporary Internet Files, then reload https://secure.www.
I can’t see the map.
Sometimes it helps to update to the latest version of Flash (which can be found here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/) but it could also be an intermittent issue with refreshing the page. The first thing to try is to manually refresh the page by hitting F5. If that doesn’t work, go to https://secure.www.stormpulse.com and make sure that you’re logged in to the site. If you’re logged in at that point, and the map is still blank, try updating Flash and visiting the site again.
How do I navigate back from Full-Screen mode? I can’t find any links back to my previous page.
On our site, the full-screen view is actually its own page (unlike YouTube for example) so the only way to escape full-screen mode is to use your browser’s Back button to navigate away from it.
How do I use Stormpulse on my iPad? Didn’t you have an iPad app at one time?
Unfortunately our iPad app had a known bug with iOS 5+, and Apple also wanted us to change our pricing, so we were forced to remove it from the App Store.
But there is a workaround to get the Stormpulse map on your iPad, albeit not a free one. If you download the Puffin Web Browser from the Apple App Store for $2.99, you can use the regular Stormpulse site with your iPad and the map works. (You can’t use the built-in Safari browser on the iPad since it does not support Flash). Here’s the link to the Puffin Web Browser app: http://itunes.apple.com/
You may also wish to try the Photon Web Browser: http://itunes.apple.
You’ll want to search for one of these and install it directly on your iPad, then use it to visit http://www.stormpulse.
What does the risk score for an asset mean?
The weather risk index is a personalized score that instantly conveys the severity of weather hazards of each of your map points. This score takes into account the number and severity of weather hazards that an asset is experiencing.
The asset list is automatically sorted according to this score. This tiny change makes browsing a long list of locations incredibly fast, as the most threatened sites are always listed first:
Need to share your list of assets sorted by risk? You can export your asset list to an Excel spreadsheet.
In addition to displaying risk on the asset page, we also add a small green, yellow, or red ‘light’ next to each location in your locations toolbar, like so:
How do I reset my password?
Please go to this page and enter the email address you used to sign up for your account:
https://secure.www.stormpulse.
This will send you an email that will allow you to regain access to your account.
I have the coordinates of my assets in degrees/minutes/seconds. How do I convert to decimal degrees?
The latitude and longitude values for custom locations need to be entered in decimal format DD.DDDD.
Here’s a webpage with several different conversion calculators to help you do just that: http://www.csgnetwork.com/gpscoordconv.html
